Bryan Eckhard
“A mental health diagnosis is no different than a physical health diagnosis…”
Bryan Eckhard MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is the founder and CEO of Great Plains Mental Health Partners Inc. He served in the Navy during the Gulf War and began his medical training through the Navy Corpsmen A-School. He then continued his training in the civilian sector by obtaining his nursing degree with the help of the GI Bill and went on to pursue his advanced degrees in Family Practice (FNP-C) and Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP-BC). He saw a need for more specialized mental health treatment of patients while working in Family Practice. “These people needed better access to care and more time than a rushed ten-minute Urgent Care appointment could provide." He felt that the stigma associated with these conditions was unwarranted. “A mental health diagnosis is no different than a physical health diagnosis – like Diabetes or High Blood Pressure. Either one needs to be medically managed to optimize overall health and wellness.”

Samantha Schell
“MEETING PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE AND HELPING THEM BUILD A HEALTHIER FUTURE…”
Samantha Schell, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has served communities throughout Northeastern Colorado for several years. Her nursing background includes Labor & Delivery, Public Health, maternal-child health, and community-based nursing, where she witnessed firsthand the significant impact mental health has on overall health and quality of life.
Having grown up in rural Colorado and now raising her family in a rural community, Samantha understands the unique challenges many individuals face when accessing mental health care. This understanding inspired her to pursue advanced training in psychiatric mental health so she could help address the growing need for behavioral health services in underserved areas.
Samantha is passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care and believes that every individual deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported. “I believe mental health care should be accessible, collaborative, and free of stigma. My goal is to meet patients where they are, help them identify their strengths, and work together to create meaningful, lasting change.”
Samantha is excited to join Great Plains Mental Health Partners and provide quality mental health care to individuals and families across rural Colorado.
